Pre-Trip Inspection
Always inspect your truck before and after every trip. Check: Brakes & Tires, Lights & Signals, Fluids & Leaks and Load Security.
Hours of Service (HOS)
11-hour driving limit - Maximum after 10 consecutive off-duty hours.
14-hour rule - Cannot drive past the 14th hour after starting a shift.
Take breaks - At least 30 min. after 8 hrs of driving.
Defensive Driving
Always anticipate other driver's moves and maintain safe distances. Keep a 6-8 second following distance at highway speeds and increase distance in bad weather or low visibility.
